European Parliament speaks NFUs language

BRUSSELS. As you know, NFU has worked intensively towards the EU promoting the interests and well-being of finance employees, on the basis of our common work to identify what is important to us.

One of the recent issues we have focused on is the proposal for a new Insurance Mediation Directive (also known as IMD2).

NFU has of course provided our comments to the European Parliament during the start of 2013.

And last week, the European Parliament’s draft proposals to change the Directive came out. When reading these, we realized that NFU policies popped up both here and there in places that we had not ourselves proposed, by people we have not even had contact with.

Suddenly, several heavy MEPs all by themselves seem to think that sales targets should be reasonable, and that education and training of finance employees is important.

Talk about creating virtuous circles – you work hard on something for a long time, and one day things start to move by themselves!

We can be happy that our arguments have stuck to the minds of the decision-makers – a proof that the work we do leaves a mark where it matters.
