New book on the financial crisis by NFU speaker Sony Kapoor
The crisis has clearly exposed several flaws in the institutional structures, incentive systems, regulations and supervisory structures of financial markets and shown that the financial sector is far too important to be left alone, Sony Kapoor writes in the foreword to think tank Re-Defines new book “The Financial Crisis – Causes and Cures”.
In his book Sony Kapoor, who is managing director of Re-Define and who has twice been keynote speaker at NFU events, explains the driving forces behind the financial crisis of 2008 and the remedies that are needed for a sustainable financial system that works for the benefit of customers, finance employees and the real economy.
An explicit aim of the book is to explain the attributes of the global financial system and the causes of the crisis in a way that is understandable also for non-experts and the layman reader. It intends to aid trade unions, NGOs, policymakers and other stakeholders in their work to reform the financial system towards long-termism and stablility.
