NFU Work Plan 2011-2012 adopted

Thursday October 14 the NFU Union Council elected Jorunn Berland as NFU President, adopted a new Work Plan for 2011-2012, and revised the NFU Statutes.

In its annual meeting in Oslo on October 13-14 the Union Council, NFU’s highest decision-making body, made several important decisions for the future of NFU.
Jorunn Berland, President of the Finance Sector Union of Norway, was elected as President of NFU for 2011-2012. Ulla-Britt Lundqvist, Vice-President of FTF in Sweden, was re-elected as Vice-President of NFU for the same period.
A new Work Plan for 2011-2012 was adopted. The next two years mean important changes for NFU. Much more resources will be dedicated to influencing EU financial sector legislation. The important work with the transnational company unions within the NFU family will continue in somewhat new forms, with NFU’s national affiliates taking more responsibility. Lastly, a new focus on communication will permeate the next activity period. NFU needs to be visible – what is not seen, does not exist.
The Union Council also revised the NFU Statutes, updating and clarifying the foundation for NFU’s work in the future.
