WANTED: European Coordinator
NFU – the Nordic lobbying organisation for trade unions in the finance and insurance sectors is seeking an ambitious and outgoing European Coordinator for its team in Stockholm. The position is fixed-term from 29 August 2016 to 30 June 2017.
As European Coordinator you are the driving force in NFU’s European advocacy work. Besides sharing the fundamental trade union values, you are a solid communicator both orally and in writing. You have excellent interpersonal skills and the energy and desire to make a difference. You also have sound analytical skills and the capacity to create momentum.
The position involves such concrete tasks as: initiating and producing legal/policy analysis and research; driving and coordinating NFU activities with external stakeholders; maintaining and expanding a network of Nordic and European colleagues and contacts; and organising seminars, meetings and conferences within NFU. The position requires regular travel.
NFU is a small but skilled secretariat working in an ever-changing international context. Therefore, the position entails significant responsibilities – but also great opportunities to influence the work of NFU and the contents of the position.
Qualifications: You have a university degree in political science, law or similar and at least some years’ relevant work experience. In addition to excellent command of a Scandinavian language (Swedish is spoken day-to-day in the Secretariat), working knowledge of English (written and spoken) is required. Experience from advocacy work is an advantage, as is knowledge of the Nordic and European financial sectors and the EU institutions.
NFU offers competitive wages and sound working conditions in a dynamic and international setting. NFU has a collective agreement – trade union representative is Annika Stenström, +46 704 147 770.
Deadline and interview dates: Please send your application and your CV in English to General Secretary Arvid Ahrin (aah@nordicfinancialunions.org) no later than May 22. Interviews will be held on May 26 and 27 in Stockholm. If you have questions about the position and NFU, please contact Arvid Ahrin: +46 708 522 443 or visit www.nordicfinancialunions.org.
