WANTED: Policy Advisor

NFU – the Nordic lobby organisation for trade unions in the finance and insurance sectors is seeking a driven, analytical and independent Policy Advisor for its team in Stockholm.

The position is a fixed-term study leave substitution, starting as soon as possible with a maximum continuation until June 30, 2020, with possible continuation.

As Policy Advisor you are responsible for a wide array of tasks relating to NFU’s key policy issues. You will drive NFU’s research and monitoring to support our knowledge build-up and political impact in close cooperation with your colleagues in NFU and the member unions. You share the fundamental trade union values and have the energy and desire to make a difference.

The position involves such concrete tasks as: initiating and producing policy analysis and research; driving and coordinating NFU activities with external stakeholders; maintaining and expanding a network of Nordic and European colleagues and contacts; and organising seminars, meetings and conferences within NFU. The position requires occasional travel.

NFU is a small but skilled secretariat working in an ever-changing international context. Therefore, the position entails significant responsibilities – but also great opportunities to influence the work of NFU and the contents of the position.

Qualifications: You have a university degree (for example in economy, political science or law) and relevant work experience. In addition to excellent command of a Scandinavian language (Swedish is spoken day-to-day in the Secretariat), working knowledge of English (written and spoken) is required. Experience from research and/or policy analysis is an advantage, as is knowledge of and interest in the trade union world and the financial sector.

NFU offers competitive wages and sound working conditions in a dynamic and international setting. NFU has a collective agreement – trade union representative is Ella Sjödin, +46 705 465 310.

Deadline and interview dates: Please send your application and your CV in English to General Secretary Arvid Ahrin, aal(a)nordicfinancialunions.org, no later than August 12.
