NFU Consultation Reply on the Call for Evidence on the Digital Omnibus Initiative

The European Commission launched the Digital Omnibus Initiative to collect feedback on how to streamline and align existing EU digital legislation, such as the AI Act, the Data Act, and the Cyber Resilience Act.
In its response, the Nordic Financial Unions (NFU) welcomes these efforts but stresses that simplification must go hand in hand with strong protection of workers’ rights and human dignity. NFU calls for a coherent Digital Governance Framework that integrates AI, data, and cybersecurity rules, strengthens worker participation in algorithmic management, and introduces Human Dignity Impact Assessments.
A sustainable digital transition, NFU argues, must be simplified without weakening, integrated without diluting, and humanised without hindering innovation.
