How do we stay resilient and responsible in a world of constant change – and ensure that competitiveness serves people, not the other way around? These are the big questions we will explore together at NFU’s upcoming conference in Copenhagen.

On 15–16 September, approximately 75 participants from NFU's member organisations will gather at The Workers' Museum in Copenhagen for two days of knowledge sharing, debate, and inspiration. The conference will feature keynote speakers, panel discussions, and interactive exchanges among participants.

The programme will dive into some of the most urgent challenges facing our societies and our workplaces:

  • Democratic Resilience & Trade Union Rights – How unions can act as defenders of democracy and the Nordic model.
  • Balancing Competitiveness with Social and Ecological Responsibility – Putting workers' rights, social values, and sustainability at the heart of EU competitiveness.
  • Digital Transformation and the Future of Work – Ensuring a worker-centred approach to AI and technological change.

Some key speakers include:

  • Natascha Strobl, Political Scientist and Author - on Fascism in the 21st century,
  • Anja Hannerz, Group Head of Sustainability, Nordea, on Sustainability as a Competitive Advantage,
  • Esme Terry, Research Fellow, University of Leeds - on AI adoption in the finance sector,

The stage is set for two days of learning, exchange, and collaboration. The NFU secretariat is looking forward to welcoming participants to Copenhagen and to the inspiring NFU Conference 2025.
